Water Barriers

After the 1997 flood the City purchased a number of Water Barriers to help combat any future flooding.

After procurment of the barriers a team of Public Works Employee's was formed to be trained on proper installation and to train others.  All Maintenance workers from Parks and Public Works have been instructed on the proper use by the Public Works Team.

For anyone that is interested in seeing the barriers and how they are used,there will be a demostration on November 8,2000 from 10:00am to 12:00 pm at Cottonwood Park on Spice Island Drive.

If anyone would like to be trained, please contact Chris Nicholas at 353-2271.He will setup training for Public Employees or Private Personnel that would be willing to help setup during a flood event.
